The Challenge

As a community teetering on the edge of significant growth, Wanamingo wanted to set a mark to draw in families and businesses. The lack of a cohesive brand identity that accurately represented the city’s potential was slowing or detracting growth opportunities.

Outcome

Brand discovery sessions aligned City Council members, business owners, and residents with a shared love for the city and a clear path to future growth. Updated print applications evoke the city's optimism and strength. A redesigned website will empower the city to serve with renewed clarity and enhanced accessibility. The rebranding provided the city assured confidence in their offering, a more cohesive representation of their values, and a comprehensive brand platform to build on for years to come.

Discovery

The city had been in an evolving stage from a primarily agriculture demographic to a blend of industrial, agriculture, and residential. The goal was to help leverage this point in the city’s history to most effectively prepare them for the next season of growth.

Positioning

Wanamingo is a welcoming small town located in Southeast Minnesota with opportunities for industrial, agricultural, and small business growth. It’s also a friendly community to build a home, raise a family, and stay for the golden years.

Direction

Using insights from our brand analysis sessions, stylescapes were created for the primary client persona. These helped bring alignment to the overall look and feel before the brand identity was created. We explored each intended application and presented new marketing ideas to raise brand awareness for the city.
